CLASS SCHEDULE
WEEK 1 – We will become familiar with the overall song, and learn the signs for the first three lines.
Let’s start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with ABC
WEEK 2 – We will learn the rest of the first verse, and utilize specific training techniques to get your hands comfortable signing quickly.
When you sing you begin with do re mi, do re mi
The first three notes just happen to be do re mi
WEEK 3 – In this lesson, we not practice signing to the song, we also start making up silly sign sentences from the lyrics and sign them to each other silently.
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
WEEK 4 – This is a review session. You will be given each word from the lyrics and will be asked to show their signs. You will also identify how you are doing with signing the words with the song. By the end of this lesson you will have answers and solutions to the following questions: How many signs per line can you typically acheive? Are they fluid? Which words do you struggle most with? Which training techniques will help you sign this song better?

* NOTE: When this class ends, there will be two weeks before the next Sing-Sign begins. VoiceSign still holds Zoom sessions during this time. They are called ZoomBetweens, and are an opportunity for people to practice conversation signing, ask questions about any sign topic, and learn different tid-bits about signing you would not necessarily learn in a more structured class. ZoomBetweens are open to anyone, whether a current student or a possible soon-to-be student.
